Enrollment in Tzivos Hashem and following its program of Torah study and performance of Mitzvos with zest, it prepares and ensures continuity of the time-honored Jewish lifestyle taught by the Torah for every Jew.

World leader, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, is sought after by top political figures and successful business people on matters of grave importance. He is a mentor and spiritual leader to hundreds of thousands of everyday people in all corners of the globe. Yet, amidst his awesome schedule, the Rebbe busied himself with the lives of children, to harness their great potential.

The Rebbe called for the establishment of Tzivos Hashem in the fall of 1980. Children are a top priority for the Rebbe, understanding the intrinsic promise held by children, to cultivate and nurture them so that they could grow to be healthy in body, mind and soul alike. The Rebbe calls for holding rallies with thousands of children at a time, speaking to the children directly and putting great responsibilities on their shoulders.

The Rebbe emphasizes that Torah and Mitzvos are important for children to do just as much if not more than adults. In fact He explained how it is building a home and life style because parents need to help and sometimes be the one to actually do the Mitsvos for their young children and infants.

Through his confidence and expectations of them, he confirmes a child’s self esteem and challenges them to use their inborn strengths and talents for Mitsvos in general and their favorite Mitzvah in particular as a career. The Tzivos Hashem relationship did not flow in just one direction, from commander to soldier. The soldiers of Tzivos Hashem enliven the Rebbe as he watches them increase their mitzvos with greater care and zest.

And it was the children who were able to identify with and express the Rebbe’s passion to bring the world to peace and goodness, as they would sing for him their theme song: We Want Moshiach Now!

A giving oriented and understanding relationship we know is not only the engine to great productivity, but is also the bedrock of human pride and  strength.

As such, Tsivos Hashem adopts an army’s ecosystem, mimicking its hierarchy and structure whilst founding it upon the Torah’s three main defining responsibilities upon the leader and head of the said base (school) or platoon (class).

The three responsibilities are: F.U.N.

  1. Food
  2. Uniform
  3. Near

FOOD

Guaranteeing base, platoon and staff commanders are fed and hydrated throughout the day by:

  1. Having a well rounded breakfast and lunch
  2. Having a staff room stocked with on the go snacks and drinks
  3. Staff reusable water bottles

UNIFORM

A uniform and tools are a must for smooth commanding and training.

As such the staff are given and empowered by:

  1. Rules and regulations for their base and platoon
  2. School store and currency
  3. List of training procedures for not adhering to rules

NEAR

Nurturing the most vital aspect of an army, business or organization,

is the communication and empowerment from and back to the head staff by:

  1. Sunday meeting with breakfast
  2. Platoon and commander check-ins
  3. Medals and awards

👑 CROWN

The matter of most importance in Tsivos Hashem and O.Y.Y.L., is for a Yiddish child to identify as a vital soldier of Hashem and His army.  As such, our mission this year is to rename the things a student already does with the lingo used in an army.

Mainly in these four areas:

  1.  Missions (growth needed in specific area)
  2.  Ranks & Tasks (school jobs and electives)
  3.  Rules (behavior expectations)
  4.  Training (homework assignment & Prize Store)

💡 HEAD

Chitas & Chidon (Sefer Hamitzvos), are the main parts of Torah learning, that lays a foundational understanding of the entire 613 Mitzvos with their story and soul together alike. Connection Point Program for Kids, consisting of a video teaching of the Rebbe for students to get a written test on and win prizes with,  is the second foot of how Torah and Mitzvos are understood and applied as commanded by God to have and listen to –  his prophet Moshe in all generations.

❤️ HEART

🏃 ACTION

Talent Time, Mivtzoyim Outreach, Tsivos Hashem Workshops and the School Talent Show, are end goals for Tsivos Hashem in general and O.Y.Y.L. in particular, due to the very nature of the Torah and its Mitzvos, them being physical, social and above all also a purposeful career for everyone to have, built on one’s unique talents and affinity for a particular Mitzvah to call his own.
